Gruvan är en av Johanneburgs äldsta med start 1881 och sista brytningen skedde 1914. 
Gruvan är flera kilometer lång med orter i flera lager. De nedre orterna är dock vattenfyllda. Vattnet var en av orsakeran till att man stängde gruvan. Härligt med något som inte är allt för kommersiellt!
Kromdraai Gold Mine.
This gold mine is located in the area of "Kradle of humankind". An enthusiastic owner of the farm and the mine meets up at the simple entrance to the mine. The mine is one of the oldest in the Joburg area, with start 1881 and close down 1914. The mine is many kilometer long with mine shaft in many layers. The lower shafts are filled with water, this was one of the reason for the close down. Nice with something not to much commercial!
